THE MINGLANILLA Archangels shoot for the inaugural crown of the 2017 Cebu Governor’s Cup Inter-cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament when they visit the Consolacion Sarok Weavers for Game 2 of their best-of-three championship series tonight at the Consolacion National High School Gym.
The Archangels moved a win away from the crown and the whopping P500,000 top purse after they held off the Sarok Weavers in Game 1, 77-70, last Sunday night at the Minglanilla Sports Complex.
If the Sarok weavers survive today, the do-or-die Game 3 will be held at the University of San Carlos Gym on July 9.
The Archangels came back from a sloppy first half in Game 1 behind a pesky defense that saw them erasing a 25-34 first half deficit.
Nebril brothers Marc Glen and Mark Justine keyed Minglanilla’s Game 1 win with a combined 37 points.
Consolacion’s hopes of forcing a deciding Game 3 will rely on Emmanuel Villamor, who exploded for 36 points in Game 1.
