Fishermen illegally fishing in Tuburan, Cebu
23 fishermen in 3 motorboats were apprehended for illegal fishing in Tuburan, Cebu on Monday morning.
According to PO3 Camilo Zafra Jr., all fishing boats engaged in commercial fishing activity in the Municipal sea-waters of Tuburan without the necessary permits to operate in the area.
Upon verification, the 3 vessels failed to present its license pertaining to their fishing operation while the 23 crew were not members of the local registry of Tuburan Municipal fisher folk.
Confiscated from all their fishing boats were 2 1/2 box of assorted freshly caught fishes that they have netted with estimated value of 3,750peso in the market.
All boats and its fishing accessories are now in the custody of the station together with its 23 personnel and charges are being prepared against them all.
