Feng Shui master and psychic Francis Gaw said the three laws – the law of God, the law of man and the law of nature – must be followed to attain harmony.

He is also known as the person to go to to drive evil spirits away. He recalled years ago that he cleaned up a city hotel of several evil spirits and since then the hotel has financially bounced back.

“Yes, there are ungo (evil or dark spirits),” he said, adding that dwellings are vulnerable to dark spirits if occupants do not pray.

Thus, he strongly advises people to pray. “Always pray. Believe in something. In life, prayers are important.”

Gaw shared his insights for the coming year last Jan 25 at the Sundance Residences Showroom along Gorordo Ave., Lahug where Sundance Residences hosted its regular open house for guests and prospective buyers.

He looks into the layouts of hotels, offices and homes of Chinese businessmen to ensure auspicious configurations, according to a statement.

Unlike other feng shui practitioners who charge expensive service fees or earn so much by selling feng shui paraphernalia, Gaw said feng shui should be practical.

Aided by his extra sensory gift that he has known for the past 20 years and the ability to drive away negative energy brought about by dark ghosts, Gaw embarked on a “mission” to dispense feng shui and psychic advice. Elderly temple monks advised him to use his gift to help others improve their lives.

The 49-year-old feng shui master and psychic was featured in an article appearing in the Asian Dragon magazine in its September-October 2013 issue. The article said “The main goal (of feng shui) is to help people get out of undesirable situations they are in and not earn so much by selling feng shui paraphernalia or being paid for repeated services.”

“Gaw, for one, drives away ghosts or does feng shui quickly, sometimes in just minutes. He even teaches homeowners what to do on their own so that he does not have to go back repeatedly,” the article added.

During the Sundance Residences open house, Gaw narrated how a top Chinese-Filipino businessman years ago sought his help to make his hotel business in Cebu City profitable. He discovered that the reason behind this was there were many dark spirits lurking there.

“ There were 64-67 uncleaned spirits which cast so much negative energy around the hotel so I cleaned it up. Since then, the hotel’s finances slowly picked up,” he recalled.

Asked what he thinks would be good business ventures this year, Gaw said he does not predict what would be good investments for the year. Apart from reading a person’s destiny based on his date of birth, Gaw advised that in business, one must always check its feasibility, the “human factor which is you,” and perform feng shui.

Nonetheless, he said seven (7) is the lucky number this year that indicates 2014 is a good year.

Gaw reiterated that feng shui is based on logic and on the three laws that must be followed – the law of God, the law of nature and the law of man so that there will be no problems.

To welcome the Chinese New Year, Gaw said that on Jan 30, one must assemble the following on the dining table to attract luck and prosperity:

  • A bowl of rice grains
  • 16 gold Goya coins
  • 16 ang pao with P100 in each envelope to be given to persons whom you think need most of the help
  • 2 pieces of pechay to pull the luck
  • 2 pieces of pineapple to invite the luck to come
