AT LEAST 20 foreign businessmen, most of them Chinese nationals, are facing deportation after they were found to have been overstaying in the country.

The overstaying aliens composed of eight women and 15 men were rounded up Monday afternoon by operatives of the Waterfront Police Station and Intelligence Division of the Bureau of Immigration (BID) in a mall in downtown Cebu City where they owned stalls.

A Chinese national collapsed during the roundup, said Chief Insp. Weldimar Tiu, chief of the Waterfront police.

The apprehended aliens had expired tourist visas, Tiu said.

Tiu added foreigners who entered the country using tourist visas are not allowed to engage in business.

From the Waterfront Police Station, the arrested foreigners were brought to the BID office for deportation.
