TWO SPORTING events will highlight the grand opening of AboitizLand’s Foressa Trails in Balamban town on Oct. 15.

Formerly the Canso X Adventure Park, Foressa Trails is located in the lush mountain barangay of Cansomoroy. It is the newest addition of AboitizLand’s Foressa mountain town development in the area.

The two events will be the first staging of the Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas 2017 and the Motorace Kawasaki Foressa Mountain Bike Track Day.

The Salomon X-Trail Pilipinas 2017 will be held in Cebu for the first time. It is expected to draw 250 to 300 participants.

The race will have two categories, the “Road To Trail” (11 kilometers) and the “Mountain Run” (21k).

The Motorace Kawasaki Foressa Mountain Bike Track Day hosted by Motorace Philippines will be featuring Foressa’s bike trail certified by the International Mountain Bicycling Association and the Trail Classification 3 of the US Forest Service.

The entire Foressa trails has a total distance of 27 kilometers.

AboitizLand manager Eduardo Aboitiz, in a press conference at the Hong Kong Room of the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, said he plans to turn Foressa Trails into a sports tourism hub.

“With this project, we would like to give everyone fun memories and priceless moments within a well-designed community that nurtures life and ignites the Cebuanos’ passion for the outdoors,” Aboitiz said.

Also in the press conference were Motorace’s Andre Borromeo, Primer Group of Companies’ Cyril Canedo, AboitizLand’s assistant vice president for marketing Joey Zamora and Green Strat Inc’s Jason Cabrinao.
