THE 2001 Dynacast kept its perfect record in Division B intact as it took a 1-0 series lead over the 1995 Savers Depot with a 70-46 demolition job in Game 1 of the best-of-three semifinals in the 22nd SHAABAA Basketball Tournament last weekend at the Magis Eagles Arena.
Dynacast banked on a sizzling 15-4 start to get ahead and remain there until the final buzzer.
Wendell Ong led a balanced scoring attack by Batch 2001 with 11 points while Erwin Ngo had 10 points and six rebounds.
In the other semis matchup, the 2000 Core Pacific routed the Kogi-Q, 61-45, to take a 1-0 lead in that best-of-three affair.
Dave Ting led the onslaught with 23 points, four assists and four steals while Marvin Roma had 13 points and a whopping seven steals.
