At least 30,000 people are expected to flock to the North Bus Terminal in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, as they head home to celebrate the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days with their loved ones on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
Zosimo Jumao-as, North Bus Terminal general manager, said that he would be expecting from 25,000 to 30,000 passengers going through the terminal in the next three days.

Jumao-as said that they had implemented measures like adding more security guards, increasing them from the usual five to 10 personnel.
He also cited the police assistance, where more police personnel are also assigned in the area to maintain the peace and order and secure those people going home to their hometowns.

He said that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board personnel had already inspected buses to ensure that they would be safe to travel as well as those from the Land Transportation Office, who had started conducting checkpoints in areas near the terminal.
More traffic enforcers are also being deployed in the area to man traffic there.
Jumao-as also said that there are around 250 buses plying the northern towns with 150 of them are from Ceres Bus Liner.
Yesterday, several people had already started to fill up buses in the terminal like Vicente Talaugon, 58, a carpenter working in Bohol.
He was interviewed by CDN as he was on his way to board a bus bound for his hometown, Tuburan town, 114 km northwest of Cebu City via Lugo, Borbon.
“I filed a vacation leave with my employers so that I can avoid the huge crowd going home to their hometowns,” said Talaugon in Cebuano.
