Bestselling authors Jennifer E. Smith and Jasmine Warga in Cebu for book signing event today

NATIONAL Book Store is bringing another duo of bestselling authors to the Philippines as it hosts book signing events with Jennifer E. Smith and Jasmine Warga. And the first book signing will be held in Cebu today, at the The Gallery of Ayala Center Cebu at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, the authors will be at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premier at 2 p.m. for their second book signing event.

Jennifer E. Smith last visited the Philippines in 2014 for a book signing tour with fellow novelist, Lissa Price. She has authored several bestselling young adult novels, including “The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight,” “This Is What Happy Looks Like,” and “The Geography of You and Me.”

Her latest work, “Windfall” follows Alice, a young woman who buys the best friend she’s been pining for, Teddy, a lottery ticket. It ends up winning him the $140 million prize, but this fortune soon opens up a gulf between them.

Jasmine Warga, on the other hand, is the author of “My Heart and Other Black Holes,” her debut novel. Published in 2015, it is a contemporary young adult tale that deals with teen romance, mental health, and suicide.

It has been translated into over 20 languages.  Her second book, “Here We Are Now,” has just been released last Nov. 7.

In this contemporary young adult tale, protagonist Taliah finally meets Julian, her biological father.

Julian asks Taliah to go with him to Indiana to meet his father, her grandfather, who is nearing the end of his life.

Taliah embarks on this journey and soon learns that Julian isn’t the father she hoped for all these years.

Registration to the book signing event starts at 10 a.m. Each guest will be allowed 3 Jennifer E. Smith books and 3 Jasmine Warga books to be signed.

The books must be presented upon registration. Only books bought from National Book Store, NBS Express and Powerbooks branches will be allowed for the signing and they must have the official receipt or price tag.
