IN an effort to rid children of head lice as well as educate them and their parents about head lice infestation, Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz conducted the Visayas leg of its Nationwide Oplan Alis Kuto program in Cebu City.

Pupils of Guadalupe Elementary School were treated to a shampooing activity held in its function hall where Licealiz representatives themselves applied the head lice treatment shampoo to the pupils’ scalp.

Oplan Alis Kuto is a vital part of the Kilusang Kontra Kuto movement of Licealiz. Now in its second year, Kilusang Kontra Kuto’s other programs include lectures and seminars conducted by medical professionals on the infestation of head lice. It aims to raise awareness, educate, and debunk common myths about head lice infestation that a lot of people fall for.

According to Licealiz’s data about one-third of pupils in public elementary schools across the Philippines suffer from head lice infestation which if will remain untreated may progress to more serious problems.

In an in-depth lecture conducted by Dr. Mary Jeunesse Fornolles, she highlighted the fact that everyone can potentially be infested by head lice thus it is important to be aware of how to avoid it and/or get rid of it.

Dr. Fornolles, in her discussion also debunked common myths about ‘kuto’ and the most effective ways to get rid of head lice. She shed light on the false notion that head lice treatment shampoos could dry up the hair and enlightened everyone with the conditioning formula that comes with Licealiz head lice treatment shampoo.
