Two fires broke out in Cebu City despite a heavy downpour brought by tropical storm Basyang last Friday evening.

The first fire broke out at 11:12 p.m. in sitio Panchang, barangay Inayawan.

The fire originated in the house owned by Cresencia Soriano.  The city’s fire trucks swiftly put out the fire at 11:31 p.m. SFO1 Christopher Orbiso of the Cebu City Fire Department said they had help from the rains.

The cause and extent of damages have yet to be determined.

The second fire hit an electric post in Carlock, barangay Sawang-Calero.  FO3 Ramon Molina said no one was hurt.
