Pasil fire victims get aid from SM mall employees

A wheelchair-bound woman receives her share of aid supplies from the management of SM Seaside City after being victimized by the fire that recently hit Barangay Pasil in Cebu City.

SM Foundation Inc., through the management of SM Seaside City Cebu, distributed relief items to the fire victims in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City last January 17.

A massive fire hit a residential area in Barangay Pasil, Cebu City last January 14, displacing over 600 families or over 3,000 individuals.

SM Seaside City Cebu immediately coordinated with the Cebu City Department of Social Welfare and Services for the activation of the Operation Tulong Express in order to provide immediate assistance to the affected community.

The Operation Tulong Express is a calamity response program of SM Foundation armed with a mission to extend assistance to calamity victims.

SM Foundation is committed to help the community where SM malls are located.

The kalinga packs distributed to the fire victims consisted of bottled mineral water, rice and ready-to-eat meals.

SM Foundation, Inc. is a corporate social responsibility arm of the SM Group. It focuses on four major programs and areas of advocacy, namely; education, religious, outreach and health.

The foundation aims to help the underprivileged people in the country. It was established in 1983 by the founder and chairman of the SM Group, Henry Sy, Sr.
