THE NATIONAL University (NU) Women’s Taekwondo Team squeaked past De La Salle University (DLSU), 39-38, in the finals of the Smart -Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL) Manila on Sunday at the SM City Muntinlupa.
The NU team of Cebuana and former University of Cebu jin Nica Garces beat DLSU in a down-the-wire matchup en route to their second straight PTL senior women’s title.
NU downed Arellano University, 52-28, in the semifinals while DLSU survived sister school De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, 28-20, to advance.
NU’s men’s team, meanwhile, also bagged the senior men’s trophy after beating the hapless University of the East, 66-33.
