AFTER being part of the hugely successful afternoon series “Wildflower,” Kapamilya actor Joseph Marco will be working on a new film.
The 29-year-old actor confirmed his new project to Cebu’s Entertainment Press last Sunday during the rehearsals for the “Maja on Stage” dance concert at IC3 Convention Center.
“It will be shot in Taiwan. It is like pang-international. (I’m) not sure if ipapakita sa Philippines,” Marco said. He, however, could not yet provide details about the film, except that he will likely play an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) . The movie will not be produced by Star Cinema.
“l’m just gonna read the script. Nabasa ko na ang synopsis and all. So far, I’m excited,” Marco said.
“Dito (Wildflower) ako na stretch out as an actor. Kasi ‘yung character ko pinakadaming namatay sa ‘kin, iyak nang iyak.
Andami kong pinaglalaban, sobrang bigat ng baggage na dinadala ni Diego,” said Marco.
In the series, he plays the role of Diego Ardiente Torillo, brother to RK Bagatsing’s character, Arnaldo Ardiente.
He eventually marries the lead character, Lily Cruz portrayed by Maja Salvador. But in last Monday’s episode, he was shot and killed by Tirso Cruz III’s character, Julio Ardiente.
Marco said he also learned to be patient and step up his game while working for the popular TV series.
“I have learned a lot. I continue learning everyday,” he added.
Marco was first discovered by GMA Network in 2007. He became part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic in 2010.
Before “Wildflower,” Marco was cast in several Kapamilya shows including “Sabel,” “Honesto,” and “Pasion De Amor.”
But his biggest break, so far, is “Wildflower.”
“Marami akong naririnig na nag-improve daw ako. It is a good thing kasi pinaghirapan ko rin ‘to,” he said.
One of the things that Marco wants to do after “Wildflower” is to study acting abroad.
“Para ma break ko kung ano naging nakasanayan at naging habit. Gusto ko ma break ‘yun. Refresher na din,” Marco said.
