Not a few netizens were angered by Mayor Tomas Osmeña’s belated announcement to suspend classes in Cebu City despite the declaration of storm signal number 1 over Cebu. Osmeña declared the class cancellation notice on his official FB page at noontime yesterday.

Christa Morales wrote, “Ang uban naa na sa skwelahan ara ra mo announce way klase. Awahi na kaayo.“ (Students are now in school. Then, you announced the suspension of classes. It’s too late)

Jane Navarro España also wrote,” Dapat gabii ra ta ka ni declare.kahibaw mn ka unta nga naay bagyo ug affected ang Cebu City..karon ra nuon nga pwerti nag kusuga sa uwan ug hangin…mag lisud nag uli.Kay d tanang estudynte pareha nimu nga nigskwela naay skyanan.” (You should have declared it yesterday evening. You know that there is a typhoon coming and Cebu City is affected. There’s heavy rain and strong winds now. It’s hard for students to go home because not all of them own car as you before.)

Another netizen named Evelyn Torremocha Peregrino, “Late permi ang announcement n Mayor louy mga bata basa na sad…” (Mayor’s announcement is always late. Poor students, they will definitely get wet.)
