BACK-TO-BACK men’s open champion Leylam Football Club (FC) inched closer to a third title after posting its second straight win via a 9-0 annihilation of Don Bosco (DB) Magone in bracket A of the 19th Aboitiz Football Cup last Sunday at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Leylam was supposed to play its final elimination game this 5 p.m. still at the CCSC against the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars as per the schedule released earlier by the organizing Cebu Football Association (CFA). However, there has been no confirmation yet from the CFA as to whether or not the match will push through as of press time.

Also in last Sunday’s game, Samba FC managed a 1-all draw against the USJ-R Jaguars.

Over at the Don Bosco Magone, Don Bosco United Football club (DBUFC) showed Queen City the exit door via a 2-1 win in the 45-Above category.

ERCO, meanwhile, inflicted a 2-1 edging of the Abellana National School (ANS) Alumni.

In the 38-Above catgeory, Rising Sun routed Queen City, 5-1, while the other match saw DBUFC enjoying a 2-0 win without exerting any effort as Echelon defaulted the match with its players not showing up.

In the U11 Mix, earning a finals ticket was Don Bosco C with a 1-0 edging of Springdale.
