THE CEBU City Sports Commission (CCSC) will be holding the championship of the Cebu City Monthly Junior Olympics (CCMJO) on March 23 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The event will gather all of the monthly winners since the inception of the CCMJO last month.

CCSC executive director Gayle Dico said they are expecting about 500 student athletes to take part in what serves as a culmination of the CCMJO.

The CCMJO is multi-sporting event held every month to assess and evaluate the student athletes who are under the Schools for Sports, a unified training implemented by the CCSC in coordination with the local government of Cebu City.

The Schools for Sports program is currently being implemented at the Abellana National School and the City Central School.

CCSC chairman Edward Hayco said that they are prioritizing the medal-rich sports such as athletics, gymnastics and swimming. However, there are also other sports included such as arnis, badminton, chess, taekwondo, volleyball, dancesport, table tennis, sepak takraw, softball, football, among others.
