KAPUSO singer and actress Aicelle Santos is gearing up for the United Kingdom tour of the musical “Miss Saigon.”
Photos taken in a dance studio were shared by Kapuso Girl PR on Instagram last Tuesday, the first look of Aicelle as she prepares the role of Gigi Van Tranh.
“Aicelle Santos prepares for Miss Saigon’s UK Tour with choreographer and former Filipino cast member Arnold Trinidad,” the caption read.
Two weeks ago, on the same page, it was announced that the 33-year-old singer and actress will be part of the Miss Saigon’s UK Tour.
Meanwhile, Aicelle in an Instagram post last week expressed how grateful she is to be part of the cast.
“Whatever He wills, I will follow. This has been my guiding mantra through the highs and lows of my life. And with this new direction I’m taking, I couldn’t thank you enough, Lord. I am humbled and blessed,” she said.
“Miss Saigon” is the world-renowned musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil.
Set during the Vietnam War, it tells the story of 17-year-old Kim who is forced to work in a Saigon bar and meets and falls in love with an American soldier.
Aicelle is not the only Filipina who played Gigi Van Tranh.
Filipina singer Rachelle Anne Go portrayed the role in the 2014 West End Revival of “Miss Saigon.”
