Bears, Stallions stay undefeated in MCBL-CWBC

THE BEARS and the Stallions continue to shine in the Tanduay Athletics x Metro Cebu Basketball League – CWBC as they beat their respective opponents last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court to remain as the only undefeated teams in the tournament.

The Stallions upended the Hornets in overtime, 94-91, behind the stellar efforts of Mikoh Pahugot, who had 29 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Lefty forward Archie Dungog backed him up with 19 points and eight boards.

The Bears, on the other hand, lit up the Piranhas, 90-79, as former University of San Carlos Warriors stud Sam Hermosa put up a double-double of 24 points and 10 boards while Mark Panerio chipped in 17.

The Stallions and Bears now hold similar 3-0 win-loss records after the fourth week of the tournament.

Seven other teams are tied for second place with identical 2-1 records.

The Raptors feasted on the Scorpions, 82-72, behind Ar Ar Mantuhac’s 30 points; the Pandas stomped all over the Sherilin Phoenix, 94-64, as Ervin Lopena went wild with 34 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and five steals; and the Lions edged the Creamer Gators, 52-49.

The Bulldogs bested the Fox, 75-67, as Jan Cipres tallied 20 points; the Cobras triumphed over the Wolves, 83-70, as JR Acha compiled 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists and the San Remegio Tigers got past the Bulls, 91-82.
