By: Christine Emily L. Pantaleon November 07,2013 - 08:20 PM

A 50-year-old farmer was shot dead by an unidentified assailant while he was asleep at home in barangay Cabalawan in Sogod town, northern Cebu.

Killed on the spot was Alfredo Pasaol, who was shot in the chest.

Senior Insp. Alexander Nuñez of the Sogod Police Station, said it appeared the perpetrator was familiar with the lay-out of the house since he was able to go to the victim’s room unnoticed.

Police said the victim was sleeping in his room while his live-in partner and their children were in the living room when the attack occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday. According to the victim’s children, their father had no known enemies in their place.

Love triangle

Love triangle is being looked into as a possible motive. Police said the victim’s live-in partner Susan Ybañez returned home just last Nov. 2 after the couple separated for almost a year.

Police said the couple had a misunderstanding over the woman’s alleged affair with another man.
