THE Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) officially started its long-term partnership with the United States Sports Academy (USSA) by having of its 50 national coaches to be trained by the latter as part of its continuing sports education program.

PSC and USSA’s partnership, which is driven to provide the country a world-class scientific training program for the national team athletes, was formally signed in October last year in Davao City.

It was signed through the protocol of cooperation crafted and signed by PSC Chairman William Ramirez and USSA President Thomas Rosandich.

Ramirez said the program will educate 50 national coaches first, with a hundred more expected to follow in the coming months.

Ramirez explained during a presser last Wednesday at the PSC headquarters in Rizal Memorial Stadium in Metro Manila that this is one of his priority projects under his administration in PSC as he looks to develop not just athletes but also the personalities surrounding them.

“We need to grow together to ensure that we reach our goals,” he said.

Ramirez also mentioned that the PSC is strengthening its efforts in upgrading its provisions for the elite athletes of the country to motivate them. / WITH PR
