AYALA Center Cebu and Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) joined forces to hold the 1st Ayala Center Cebu Juniors and Kids Standard Chess Tournament on May 19 to 12.
The tournament will have 16-under and 12-under competition, using a seven-round Swiss System format.
The tournament is held in preparation for the upcoming 19th Asean Age Group Chess Tournament in Davao City on June 8 to 18, where a lot of young Cebuano wood pushers are expected to join.

The tournament is sponsored by Ayala Center Cebu itself, Rose Pharmacy, Antoine Asoque, Cepca and the Cebu International Chess Society.
Cepca will also hold its monthly tournament for the month of May on May 13, simultaneously with the birthday of its president Engr. Jerry Maratas. It will be held at the Mactan Newtown Beach Resort.
