NORTH division defending champions Consolacion Sarok Weavers virtually assured themselves a spot to the quarterfinal round following an 83-64 trashing of Compostela last Wednesday in the Cebu Governor’s Cup 2018 Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament at the Carmen Municipal Gym in northern Cebu.

Consolacion improved its record to 3-0 (win-loss) to continue to lead bracket 1 of the north division. Compostela dropped to 0-2.

Only the top two teams per bracket will advance to the next round. At the moment, Consolacion is on top followed by Danao (2-0) and Mandaue (1-1).

Mandaue logged its first win by crushing host team Carmen, 103-81, also on Wednesday to stay in contention for the other quarterfinal spot.

There are five teams in the north division bracket 1, which means each team plays four times.

Emmanuel Villamor led the Sarok Weavers with 20 points while Patrick Montano and Marco Booker Panta chipped in 11 markers each.

Alje Mendez led Mandaue City with 25 points.
