Warriors survive James’ 51-point outing to take Game 1 in overtime

The Golden State Warriors banked on a huge overtime performance to pull off a 124-114 victory over Cleveland in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

The Warriors outscored the Cavs, 17-7, in the extra session to take the win despite the 51-point explosion of Cleveland star LeBron James.

It was a new Finals career high for James, but it all went for naught as Golden State took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
