Garcia is May’s champ in BTA monthly tilt

DESPITE lacking preparation, Christopher Estrella Garcia still went on to rule the May edition of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) – PRIMA Monthly Open Tournament last Sunday at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

The eight-handicapper Garcia, who hasn’t played competitive bowling for five months, finished the six-game series with a total of 1,261 pinfalls to emerge champion.

Vivian Padawan (1,253) and Xyrra Cabusas (1,242) finished second and third, respectively.

According to Garcia, he has only practiced three times in the month prior to the tournament. Still the bowler from Mandaue City came out on top with scores of 201, 213, 226, 190, 190 and 193.

Dory Enoveso (1,226) and Clarence Tiu (1,222) complete the top five, respectively.

Finishing sixth to tenth were Boy Co (1,219), Bel Suelto (1,155), Ed Aninon (1,151), Arthur Tapaya (1,150), and Nestor Ranido (1,136).
