Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot denied allegations that he did not cooperate to the police on the accidental firing incident where he was wounded in the leg.

Loot also denied reports that he did not surrender the firearm intact to the police.

He said that he instructed the owner of the firearm to surrender to the police and also to turn over the firearm to the authorities.

However, he was surprised when he learned that the police had later released the owner of the firearm and did not confiscate the firearm.

He said he would have filed a case against his security officer for his laxity in handling his firearm.

Loot said with the security officer released, then who would he file a complaint against then.

Loot is asking Senior Supt. Manuel Abrugena, Cebu Provincial Police Office director to investigate why the police released the owner of the gun.
