Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena’s refusal to allow use of the South Coastal Road for the bike leg of the Ironman Asia-Pacific Championships due to traffic concerns drew mixed online reactions.

Facebook user Jon Curse wrote, “The root cause of all this problem is “Tommy Osmeña”. He is the problem, 30 years in office, no major project to solve the problem of road congestion. He never pushed any road widening on our major streets.
“Praktikal wise si Mayor Tom,” said Jin Malik.
