Osmeña willing to give up assigned security amid killings of local chief executives

Despite the spate of killings among local chief executives, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said that he is willing to give up assigned policemen to him.

Osmeña told Cebu Daily News that he may waive the privilege of having a security detail if the assigned policemen should be needed to improve the peace and order situation in the city.

The mayor, who has two alternate security details, said that he is more concerned for public security rather than his own.

“If the police need my escort to improve the peace and order situation, if they need them, they can have them. That’s my priority,” said Osmeña.
