ILLEGAL drugs valued at P6 million were seized by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pardo Police in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City late Saturday evening.
Chief Insp. Regino Maramag, precinct commander of Pardo Police Station led the operation which resulted in the arrest of one Reneil Monceda. 28, a resident of Sitio Lawis, Barangay Mambaling, whom the police consider to be a high-value target.
Allegedly confiscated from the suspect were one medium pack and five large packs of shabu weighing 503.9 grams, during the buy bust operation.
Prior to Monceda’s arrest, Maramag said his men arrested another alleged drug personality, during a checkpoint conducted along N. Bacalso Ave., Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.
The suspect was identified as Archie Villarino Espada, 24, and a resident of Sitio Villa Bulceta, Barangay Bulacao Cebu City. Police allegedly seized from his possession two sachets of shabu.
Maramag believed that Espada came from Barangay Mambaling where he bought shabu for his personal consumption.
It was Espada who revealed information which led to the arrest of Monceda, said Maramag.
Monceda is now detained at the Pardo Police detention cell pending the filing of drug charges against him.
