The Commission on Human Rights in Central Visayas (CHR-7) has expressed concern about President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of a more relentless and chilling campaign against illegal drugs.

The President made the announcement during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday (July 23).

Lawyer Arvin Odron, director of CHR-7, said respect for human rights is important in any state.

The regional director appealed to law enforcers to respect human rights, being the backbone of a civilized society.
