Members from the opposition United Barug Team Rama is urging Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to restore the city government’s support to the police.
In a press conference today, Councilors Raymond Alvin Garcia, Joel Garganera, and Pastor ‘Jun’ Alcover Jr. said Osmeña’s decision to stop shouldering the expenses for the maintenance of city-owned police vehicles could be detrimental for police operations.
“We should not stop supporting the police in order to preserve the peace and order in Cebu City,” said Garganera.
For his part, Garcia revealed that he will be filing a resolution before the City Council urging the mayor to withdraw his decision.
“It’s not only the police who will suffer but also the Cebuanos,” said Garcia.
