Barangay officials called to cooperate with waste management program
Cebu City officials called on barangay officials to help reduce garbage volume in their respective areas.
Barangay officials showed their support to these plans in a seminar held at City Hall.Among these plans is the creation of a solid waste management committee, The committee can help map out plans to reduce garbage volume in the barangays.
Councilor Nida Cabrera says she will propose an amendment to the solid waste management ordnance that would allow plastics to be collected and sent to a facility in Talamban that would convert plastics to boards that can be used for housing,
The facility would be donated by the Kitakyushu City of Japan. The project is expected to start this May.
