TRIATHLETE-turned-obstacle racer Muhammad Sherwin Managuil proved that he’s the king of obstacle races in Cebu after clinching the men’s elite title of the Gorilla Boot Camp’s The Big Gorilla 6-kilometer Challenge held in Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City.

Managuil, a native of Zamboanga City and currently based in Cebu, conquered the 23-obstacle Gorilla Boot Camp in 35 minutes and 32 seconds to emerge champion.

Alexis Hernandez (38:35) claimed second place while Christopher Recto (39:53) finished third.

Managuil was also the champion in the men’s sprint open category of the first Spartan Race at the Foressa Trails in Barangay Cansomoroy in Balamban town, west Cebu last June.

Winner in the distaff side was Yana Loyd, who finished in 58:24. Daisy Batuc (1:03.00) and Jennifer Lastimosa (1:04.41) were runners up.

The men’s open category winner was Richard Buar (49:30) while Janice Areja clocked 56:16 topped the distaff side.
