A family of four was arrested and around P1 million worth of drugs was seized in a buy bust operation in Sitio Alaska, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City past 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The subject of the buy bust operation was a 25-year-old woman, who is also a single mother.

Also arrested were the woman’s mother, her mother’s live-in-partner, and her 17-year-old brother, according to Chief Inspector Randy Caballes, chief of the Mambaling Police Station.

The drug enforcement unit of the Mambaling Police Station was able to confiscate 90 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth), which has an estimated value of at least P1 million, said Caballes.

Caballes said they have been monitoring the 25-year-old single mother for one month. According to Caballes, the drug suspect allegedly admitted to the operatives that she was not the drug pusher but her brother.

“Gisugo ra daw siya sa iyang igsoong lalaki nga naa sa sulod sa prisohan (She claimed she was only obeying the order of her brother who is currently detained at the city jail),” said Caballes.
