Mandaue police urge public to be vigilant amid bomb scare
MANDAUE City residents and the public in general are encouraged to be always vigilant against suspicious persons or unattended bags or packs.
Senior Supt. Julian Entoma, Mandaue City Police Office chief, made the call amid the bomb threat received on Thursday, which prompted the police to be on full alert.
Entoma encouraged the public to call the police if they would see suspicious persons or unattended bags or packs.
“We will continue to be on full alert unless we received orders from the region and will immediately respond if any bomb threats are received,” said Entoma.
He also advised the public to remain calm and not to spread bomb hoaxes or bomb jokes in text messages or in the social media.
Aside from his call for vigilance, Entoma said that the MCPO was also deploying police K9 units in at the Mandaue City Hall of Justice, churches and City Hall.
More police mobile patrols were also being done in populated areas and entry and exit points of the city were being closely monitored.
Intelligence personnel were also deployed and instructed to gather intelligence reports of suspicious groups or individuals who might be the persons behind the bomb scare.
Based on police verification, Entoma assured that they found out that no group or individual was planning any attacks in the city.
