FEARLESS guard Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw sank a fallaway three-pointer as time expired to give the 2013-Hyksos Seafood Restaurant a scintillating 73-70 win over the 2011-Chioson Development in Game 1 of the Division C finals of the 23rd SHAABAA basketball tournament last Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.

With the game tied at 70-all and only two seconds left in the game, Araw-Araw received the inbound pass, juked right to elude the defense of 2013’s Bradley Bacaltos before rising up for a high-looping three pointer that hit nothing but the bottom of the net to give 2013 the series-opening victory.

The former Cesafi Rookie of the Year finished with 14 points, six assists and five rebounds as 2013 seeks to finish the job off in Game 2 tomorrow at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

Over in Division B, the 2007-Bad Boys Wings edged the 2003-Cebu Landmasters, 57-55.

Wide-bodied forward Leigh Dixon proved to be the biggest thorn on the side of 2003 as he tallied 18 points on top of an incredible 23 rebounds.

Job Shan added 13 points to help 2007 take a 1-0 against a 2003 squad that was missing ace wingman and current Batangas Athletic, Moncrief Rogado.

In Division A, the 1990-Bayfront downed 1997-Top Shift Motors, 49-36.

The big man combination of many-time league MVP Dave Lim and Glenn Sevilla proved too much for 1997 as the former had 12 points, 25 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks while the latter added 11 markers.
