OVER 500 current and scholar-graduates of SM Foundation Inc. gathered in SM Seaside City Cebu last September 30 for their second general assembly.
The scholars started the day with a Zumba exercise and photo opportunities at the beautiful Sky Park in SM Seaside City Cebu. The scholars then went to SM Seaside City Cebu’s Centerstage cinema for the general assembly program.
The program started with a welcome message from Linda Atayde, SM Foundation executive director for education programs, where she shared with scholars the journey of SM founder and patriarch, Henry Sy Sr.
Marissa Fernan, vice president of SM Prime Holdings Inc., spoke about the history of SM in Cebu City and her relationship with the Sy family when SM City Cebu was being built. Fernan was instrumental in the construction and opening of SM City Cebu in 1993. This was then followed by the opening of SM City Consolacion, SM Hypermarket Lapu-Lapu, and SM Seaside City Cebu, and various corporate social responsibility projects together with SM Foundation, Inc. and SM Cares.
A Holy Mass happened after the talk, followed by a free movie screening of Mission Impossible – Fallout.
