TWO Filipino men working as waiters in Dubai are accused of trying to kill their countryman last May after the victim was stabbed twice.

The man had been visited at his residence by three Filipino friends consisting of two women and one man. They arrived in the evening and left at 4 a.m. However, they would return minutes later to tell him that they had been assaulted in the elevator by two waiters who were their countrymen, reported Gulf News on Sunday, October 28.

The male visitor in the group said the waiters had stalked and harassed his girlfriend, who was among the two women.

The Filipino who had been visited then confronted the two waiters about the assault, but this resulted in the waiters attacking the group again.

One of the waiters, 33, cornered the victim, while the other waiter, 32, stabbed him twice even after he tried to defend himself with a bottle.

Police arrested both waiters at the building in Al Muraqabat, which is located at eastern Dubai. The victim was rushed to a hospital.
