THE Sherilin Plastics created a three-way logjam in bracket A as they blew away the reigning champions Lycans, 78-62, in the Duterte Basketball League last Sunday at the Capitol Parish gym.
Boasting of a complete roster for the first time all tournament long, the team of businessman Richard Mercado asserted themselves early and never looked back to nab their fifth win against a single loss and tie their victims and Paragsa, which won over Rasenta, 78-56, at the top.
Former University of San Carlos stud Mike Cantonao and Daryle Tan had 13 and 10 points, respectively, to lead Sherilin Plastics’ balanced offensive.
The Gifters also got a 95-81 win over the Knights to boost their record to 4-2. Steve Castro led the winners with 23 points while former University of Cebu star Allain Abellanosa added 10.
Over in bracket B, SAGBAF Enterprises, CompMan and Tito’s Kitchen are also tied for the lead with identical 5-1 records.
Ralph Belarmino exploded for 30 points in SAGBAF’s 85-56 win over the Elwin Lions while Tito’s Kitchen bested JTR, 97-86. John Bautista and
Ruben Ludovice were the main men for Tito’s Kitchen as they scored 32 and 21 markers, respectively.
