Will Vice Ganda rule MMFF 2018 Box Office?

UNKABOGABLE Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda is poised to retain his no. 1 spot at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 box office.
This after fans warmly received the official teaser of the comedian-host’s newest movie ”Fantastica” which was released by Star Cinema on Saturday, November 10. It currently has more than 956,000 views.

The video begins with Vice Ganda introducing the carnival where his family is working.

“Welcome to Perya Wurtzbach, the happiest place in the world, the universe rather,” he said.

In the next scene, Dantes together with Ryan Bang talks with Vice Ganda and actress Jaclyn Jose, who plays Vice’s mother in the film.

“Gusto kasi naming bilhin ang lupa ninyo ‘eh,” Dantes says.

Jose answers, “Hindi namin ipagbibili ang lupa namin.”

“Narinig niyo sinabi ng nanay ko? Ang sabi niya, hindi namin ipagbibili ang lupang ito,” Vice Ganda says, copying Jose’s signature deadpan way of delivering her lines.

The teaser also shows Richard Gutierrez who wants to help Vice Ganda.

“Kailangan na naming makabalik sa Fantastica at buhayin ang perya. Kailangan natin buhayin ang perya. Alam ko kung paano,” Gutierrez says.

The actors also makes light of their network affiliation, as well as the perceived rivalry.

“Hindi ako kasali dito ah,” Dantes tells Vice Ganda.

“Kasali ka kasi Kapatid ka,” Vice Ganda shouts.

“Hindi ako Kapatid, Kapuso ako ‘eh,” Dantes answers.

Jose joins in the conversation and says, “Ako din Kapuso.”

“Nay, Kapamilya tayo. Kapamilya tayo di ba?,” Vice Ganda says, facing Gutierrez.

“Oo, Kapamilya ako na dating Kapuso at … Kapatid,” Gutierrez answers.

“Fantastica” is Vice Ganda’s first big-screen project with Gutierrez and Dantes.

Directed by Barry Gonzales, the movie is produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.

Other stars in the film are Maymay Entrata, Edward Barbers, Kisses Delavin, Donny Pangilinan, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, and Bela Padilla.

In 2017, Vice Ganda headlined the MMFF entry “The Revenger Squad” which was the festival’s highest grossing film, earning more than P500 million. It also starred Daniel Padilla and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
