Court dismisses carnapping charge vs Ramil Ayuman

Former Apas Barangay Captain Ramil Ayuman has been acquitted of the carnapping charge filed against him in 20016 by then acting mayor Margarita Osmeña.

Judge Oscar Andrino of Branch 5 of the Municipal Trail Courts in Cities (MTCC) said that Osmeña failed to prove Ayuman’s guilt.

“All told, the court finds that the evidence of the prosecution has not successfully established the culpability of the accused as charged in the herein information,” said Andrino in a five-page order dated November 5, 2018.

Ayuman posted a copy of the court decision on his Facebook page at around 12 p.m. today.

He said on his FB page that the court decision was an “answered prayer.”

Sought for her comment, Osmeña told reporters that she respected Andrino’s decision.
