JOSHUA Galarse emerged as this year’s Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Bowler of the Year after topping the finals last Saturday at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
In the finals, Galarse finished with 233 pinfalls, beating Eric Bucoy, wound up second with 195 pinfalls.
The 25-handicapper Galarse topped the qualifying round with a total of 1,087 pinfalls coming from his 165, 240, 185, 221, 151 scores. This gave him the first ticket to finals.
Beth Ngo also advanced to the step-ladder format finals after finishing with 1,059 after the qualifying round.
MicMic Miranda (1,057), Bucoy (1,043), and Ging Francisco (1,036), fought to make it to the next round. But only Bucoy advances with 221 in the quarters. In the semifinals, Bucoy prevailed by defeating Ngo, 235-189.
