John Dave Aznar nips Squeezie Laundry

JOHN Dave Aznar solidified its hold of the top spot in its group after scoring a 75-70 win over Squeezie Laundry Huskies in the City Hoops Basketball League Season 6 – Brinnovid Cup last Sunday at the Vista Grande Gym in Bulacao, Talisay City.

The John Dave Aznar squad remained undefeated in Bracket C as it now holds a 3-0 win-loss record.

The Huskies dropped to 2-2 good for fourth place.

Jimuel Craus was the game’s top performer with 19 points while team owner John Dave Aznar added 12 markers. Zareygel Rosano and Serg Alburo chipped in 12 and 11, respectively.

Still in Bracket C, Talisay District Hospital (TDH) moved up to number two following an 85-77 decision over Z&G Pro and Audio.

TDH, who are now 3-1, was led by Joey Catipay with his 29 points while Brigmor Barliso contributed 22.

Pablito Tolentino and Jieciel Lastimosa, meanwhile, had 22 points apiece as the Bulldogs took down Venomenon, 98-88, in the Bracket A action.

Former Southwestern University spiker Kevin Labay’s 26 point-performance was not enough as Venomenon (SWU Alumni) dropped to fifth place in their group with a 1-3 record.

The Bulldogs moved up to number two with a 3-1 slate.

In the last game of the day, Cascrete Builders evened their record to 2-2 after a 94-78 rout of Southside.

Mark Caparas carried the Builders with 50 points.

Both teams have now identical 2-2 records in Bracket A.
