A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl who was reported missing five months ago was finally found yesterday at Sitio Balikid, barangay Quiot, Cebu City.

The parents of Maryflor Medalla burst into tears when they were brought to the private lot where her remains was found, saying they knew it was her because the shirt and the slippers were familiar.

SPO1 Ruth Violango said two kids between seven to nine years old were playing at the area yesterday morning when they noticed a skull and a pair of ribs. Since it was a mountainous area, the children were only able to notify the barangay tanods in the evening, when they went down.

The tanods inspected the place at 9 p.m. last night to verify the report, but did not notice anything because the area was dark and grassy. At 8:30 a.m. the tanods returned and finally saw what they were looking for.

They notified the police and Medalla’s parents. A certain Allan Jemonngala is being searched by authorities due to his involvement in kidnapping cases.
