CEBU CITY, Philippines – The first dedicated International English Language Test System (IELTS) Test Center outside of Manila opens on March 25 at the IDP Education Cebu Office at the Ground Floor of the Keppel Center, Cardinal Rosales Avenue, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City.
The IDP Cebu IELTS Test Center (CTC) offers more convenience – computer-delivered tests, faster results and more frequent testing – opening up a host of new options for the global travelers, students and workers. With this new facility, Cebuanos will now have the advantage of five to seven test sessions weekly with results returned within five to seven days, a huge improvement from the previous once- to three times-monthly testing and two-week turnaround.
“IDP IELTS Cebu Test Center has a dedicated and Cebu-based team who can deliver efficient customer service to our test-takers. This new test centre also has the capability to deliver more test sessions for the computer-delivered IELTS – morning, afternoon, and even Sunday sessions for busy test takers,” said Hannah Esguerra, head of the IELTS Operations and Business Development for IDP Philippines.
IDP is the first IELTS test center to administer the test on computer in the Philippines. The new option is the same as paper-based IELTS in content, scoring, level of difficulty, question format and security but offers more frequent schedules. Tests in listening, reading and writing are delivered in a computer while the speaking tests will continue to be administered face-to-face with an IELTS Examiner.
The CTC is resource hub set within a comfortable 310-square meter unit which also hosts the IDP Cebu offices. It has a modern and quiet purpose-built laboratory, Practice Room, as well as Training Room where workshops are conducted to help IELTS test takers in their preparation for the tests. With all the support available, Ana Fruto, the Test Center Administrator, is committed to providing the best customer experience for all its Cebu test takers.
IELTS is the world’s most trusted and most popular English proficiency test for higher education and global migration. More than 3 million tests were taken in 2018. Over 10,000 organizations trust and accept IELTS as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of true to life ability to communicate in English.
IDP is a world leader in international education and proud co-owner of IELTS./dcb
