San Francisco mayor, vice mayor in trouble for possession of firearms, explosives

Cebu City, Philippines — A hand grenade, two rifles, and several live ammunition were confiscated from the house of the mayor and vice-mayor of San Francisco town in Camotes Island, Cebu. 

Armed with a search warrant, operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) of Cebu raided the house of siblings Aly Arquillano and Al Arquillano on Thursday morning, April 4, 2019. 

Aly is the town mayor while Al is the town’s vice mayor. Both were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and explosives. 

Weapons seized included an explosive hand grenade, a caliber .22 rifle – with license Aly claims to have been reported as missing, a caliber 45 pistol, an AR15 rifle, 68 empty shells of a caliber 45, 50  empty shells of 9mm, three units of cellular phones, and several live ammunition. /bmjo
