Cebu City, Philippines—The defending champions Danao City and Carmen continued to lord it over the rest of the field as they logged in wins that kept them ahead of the pack in the 9th Congressman Red Durano Cup basketball tournament on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in Carmen.

Carmen held court with a 91-69 bashing of Liloan, while Danao City survived Borbon, 69-64.

The two teams are at the top of the standings with identical 4-0 win-loss cards.

Carmen blew the game wide open in the third where they outscored Liloan, 29-17, to take a 67-46 lead to the fourth period where they would not be threatened at all.

Stephen Bejoc led the way for Carmen with 24 points while Kenneth Watin put up 18 markers. Liloan fell to an even 2-2.

Meanwhile, Benedict Olivar scored 16 points for Danao City even as John Jabonete contributed 13. The loss was Borbon’s first in three outings. /bmjo
