CEBU CITY, Philippines – The rehabilitation of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) taxiway is set to officially start at 9 p.m. today, April 8.

Mary Ann Dimabayao, MCIA Public Affairs manager, said that asphalt overlay of the airport’s runway was part of their P350 million rejuvenation project.

This will be implemented from April 8 to June 6, 2019.

During the duration of the rehabilitation project, part of the runway will be closed for repair while the remaining parts will be used to accommodate aircrafts to prevent major disruptions in their operations.

Dimabayao is confident that the rehabilitation works will only cause minimal disruptions on flights because this will be done  in phases or segments./dcb
