Cebu City, Philippines — His numbers may not pop out but best believe when a defensive stop is needed, Cebuano wingman Ron Marvis Dennison will be ready when his number is called in the semifinal round of the PBA Philippine Cup.

Although the Phoenix Fuel Masters have yet to know who their opponent will be in the semis after TNT pushed the reigning champions San Miguel to a deciding Game Three in the quarterfinals, Dennison — the former University of the Visayas Baby Lancer — said he’s preparing himself for a tough battle up ahead.

Either way, he will be re-acquainted with familiar faces with San Miguel featuring prolific guard Terrence Romeo, Dennison’s former teammate on FEU and TNT boasting of fellow Cebuano Roger Pogoy, another former Tamaraw teammate.

Kailangan lang talaga na maging handa kami,” said Dennison who is averaging two points and a rebound in just seven minutes of action in the 10 games he’s played in so far.

While he is appreciative of Phoenix’s achievements this season, Dennison asserts that there remains a lot of work to be done.

Dennison also admitted that he already has learned a lot in his first conference as a rookie and is taking everything in stride especially when defending some of the PBA’s finest perimeter players.

/bmjo
