Lacion’s Sarok Weavers drops Alegria, tops Bracket B in Gov’s Cup basketball tourney

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Consolacion Sarok Weavers snatched their second straight win in the quarterfinal round as they defeated Alegria, 77-67, in the 2019 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament on Friday, over at the Sogod Municipal Gym.

The victory placed Consolacion at the top of Bracket B. The win over Alegria comes on the heels of the Sarok Weavers’ 98-79 win over Sogod earlier this week.

John Dalumpines and Keith Padoyogdog led the way for the team of head coach Paul Flores, with 14 points apiece.

Alegria’s loss dropped them to 0-2.

Only the top two teams of each bracket will advance to the crossover semifinals./dbs
