Cebu City, Philippines —Police in Badian town,  southwestern Cebu are now in pursuit of a male suspect believed to have attempted raping a 12-year-old girl last Friday, April 12, 2019.

Police Lieutenant Revelito Tadique, Badian Police Station chief, confirmed this to members of the media today, Tuesday, April 16.

Tadique said the victim, accompanied by her parents, reported the incident to their office past 7 p.m. on Friday.

“The attempted rape reportedly happened at Barangay Kansanto around 6 p.m.,” said Tadique.

He added that they are still conducting an investigation on the case, especially that there were inconsistencies with the  victim’s description of the suspect.

“At one point she told us that the suspect was not wearing anything. His face was masked with his shirt,” Tadique said.  “At another point, she told us that he was wearing brown pants and had a tattoo on his arm,” he added. /bmjo
